The Gallatin City Cemetery is home to old-fashioned tombstones and towering memorials that date back to 1814.
Many of Sumner County’s most fascinating characters are buried in that cemetery.
At the Candlelight Cemetery Tour, you will hear some of their life stories as you follow the candlelit path through the cemetery. This year’s tour centers around Jordan Gibson, a free man of color who fought in the Revolutionary War, and his descendants.
On Saturday, Oct. 4, tours begin at 5 p.m.; a new tour starts every five minutes. The final tour begins at 9 p.m.
Tickets are sold for specific start times and will only be available for purchase online.
